Immortelle is a Mediterranean plant, high up to 60 cm, with narrow leaves and yellow flowers. Traditionally is used for treatments of asthma, migraine, liver disorders and skin diseases. The healing part of the plant is the flower. Natural habitat of immortelle is in the sea coast on the rocks, where the sun light is abundant. It has to be distilled 24h after harvest. Relevant varieties for therapeutic use are rich in italodions which are helping in haematoma absorption and stimulation of skin regeneration. Thanks to its richness in active compounds, immortelle has also mucolytic, spasmolytic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anticoagulant activity and stimulates hepatocytes, decreases levels of cholesterol. Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens) is a plant from the family of Geraniaceae. The Pelargonium species had been known for centuries in traditional aromatherapy of many countries. Because of the sweet smell it was planted around houses believing it will send away the bad spirits.
